Hydroponic Gardener + Snakebreak No words can describe how emotionally impactful this album is, it describes how I felt during the depressing 8 years of my life. Impressive what music can be, if you just pour your emotions in it. Favorite track: final song.

Lainey Karpp This album refuses to hold back and make the listener feel what the artist was trying to portray. Overall it's an amazing album that makes you take a dive into the emotions of others. It felt raw, uncomfortable, and dark in the best way possible. Favorite track: intermission.

about

each song has an alternative title outlining the phases of the depression I’ve felt over the course of a month.

(skipping disk) this is what it sounds like to pretend to be happy
remember when you would play a disc on a walkman and you realize your favorite cd you’ve listened to a million times starts skipping. for a while you’ve noticed it here and there and you’d probably stop the disk or shake the walkman out of frustration. maybe you’d take out the disk and clean it off but it’d be ok. but now it’s it’s hard not to notice anymore. this is how it starts. a creeping issue suddenly rises to the surface and now it’s too late to try and fix it.

(an illusion of clarity) trying to remember to remember to forget
the damage is present it’s still interfering with the day to day, maybe it’s not as noticeable this day and that day or maybe you’re trying to ignore it on purpose. you think you’ve made progress on figuring out what’s wrong but it’s clear there’s still more to unpack to process but let’s just keep trying to push on. even though you can’t wake up today we’ll try again tomorrow.

(intermission) forgetting how you really feel
dance in your room drink some wine really let go but we haven’t done the work to feel better so how could you actually feel better. it doesn’t matter. pretend to be happy. this is usually the longest feeling. false sense of euphoria.

(final song) there could be passion there could be pain
an acceptance. an acknowledgment. it’s almost cinematic and romantic to finally fall into your own arms and accept that you’re not ok. it’s ok to cry it’s ok to be upset it’s ok to recognize you needed help. it hurts but it’s ok.
